COURSES OFFERED BY THE
REGENCY
THE GENERAL ENGLISH
COURSE
This course is designed to provide students with a varied and interesting
teaching programme, which concentrates on developing the ability to use the
type of English necessary for everyday communication. Students can attend
this course for any length of time, from one week - to one year. Longer term
students will find that as their English improves the teaching and material
will reflect that improvement. Those students who are able to attend the
Regency for only a short time will find that our small classes, experienced
teachers, and English speaking atmosphere will enable them to make rapid
progress.
TEACHER-TRAINING
COURSES
As well as language tuition, the Regency provides
teacher-training courses for teachers of English from abroad. Areas covered
include: designing communicative activities; new approaches to grammar
teaching; the sound of English; lesson planning; using and exploiting
authentic material in the classroom and teaching the four skills. These
courses can be arranged on a group or one-to-one basis and may be combined
with an Advanced English Language course.
EXAMINATION COURSES
For many years the Regency has operated a programme of specialised
examination courses, with considerable success. At the moment we run courses
for the following examinations: Cambridge Proficiency; Cambridge First
Certificate; Cambridge Preliminary English Test (P.E.T.); Cambridge
Certificate in Advanced English; Oxford Higher Certificate; Oxford
Preliminary (levels 1, 2 &3); Trinity Collage Graded Oral exams, and
London Chamber of Commerce exams. Full details of courses are on the price
